There are some points that the trained Shiatsu therapist will avoid during pregnancy.  Provided that the therapist knows these points there is no risk to the mother or child from Shiatsu during pregnancy.
The treatments would be focussed on the overall health of the mother and the child rather than being focussed on the individual wellbeing of the mother.

Shiatsu has also been used to assist women who are struggling to become pregnant and has been extremely effective with helping women after the baby has been born.
